Church v anti-Church, Gospel v anti-Gospel

"We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through.
I do not think that wide circles of the American Society or wide circles of the Christian Community realize this fully.
We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel.
It is a trial which the Church must take up."

Blessed Pope John Paul II, is reputed to have made the above statement when visiting the U.S.A. as Karol Cardinal Wojtyla, in 1976.

The antithesis compared to the thesis is considered the direct opposite. The anti-Gospel does not seem like the direct opposite of the Gospel and accordingly is easily accepted as the Gospel when the error/change is presented as deeper interpretation or more enlighted understanding.

The anti-church doesn't seem very different to the Church but lack of obedience to the Holy Father or adherence to traditional Church teaching is not always apparent.

How can the average person know if he or she is hearing the Gospel or the anti-Gospel?

Frankly, it is very difficult to distinquish between them except when looking at extremes.

The best solution is to hold fast to the Blessed Virgin. She above all knows her Son's Gospel.

Consecration to Mary, the Mother of God, is the best antidote to error.

Ask Mary, as the Advocate of the People of God, for protection.

I forget who said, he who acts as his own attorney has a fool representing him, or words to that effect.
